Here is a list of files that should be in the archive for SigMX v3.30
FILE_ID.DIZ = BBS ID file
FILELIST.TXT = This file
SIGMX.DOC = Documentation, short and sweet. Read it before
you do anything else if you want SigMX to work.
WHATS.NEW = Revision history of SigMX
(and "What's New" about this version.)
SIGMX.EXE = The executable program itself!
SIGMX286.EXE = Same as SIGMX.EXE, only compiled to run on machines
using a 286/386/486 CPU (slightly faster).
SMX.BAT = A sample batch file for use with your off-line reader.
SETUP.EXE = Newer, use friendly SETUP utility for SigMX.
CONFIG.SMX = Configuration file
MONO.SMX = Same as CONFIG.SMX, only for monochrome displays
SINGLE.SMX = Same as CONFIG.SMX, using a different SigBlock box style.
LOCAL.SMX = A sample SMX file (with slightly different colors).
SIGMX.SIG = A sample SIG
OTHER.SIG = Another sample SIG
JOJO.SIG = Another sample SIG
NETWORK.SIG = Another sample SIG, suitable for most networks/echomail.
SIGMX.TAG = Sample Tag-Phrases to start you off.
There aren't many, so add your own (or delete a few)
to suit your tastes.
SMX-PROG.TXT = Info about how the *.SMX configuration files are set up
(For programmers who want to customize them in ways
that the SETUP utility cannot.)
Please read the docs (SIGMX.DOC) carefully before using SigMX, so you have
as few problems as necessary getting SigMX to run. Most of the people who
have had problems installing SigMX have not read the docs carefully enough
and were soon able to correct it. (At least those who have asked me :)
